Hello, I went through your query, is he suffering from hemolytic anemia?? What is his hemoglobin level. In general, in hemolytic anemia with splenectomy, with severe anemia you can tranfuse PRBC (packed red blood cells), not whole blood. And long term blood transfusion may leads to iron overload, which needs to be treated when it occurs, please talk to your doctor regarding this.
