Anemia or thalessemia
I had anemia (hb of 9mg/dl), Hematocrit of 33 and peripheral blood smear stating Longatanding significant microcytic anemia. Overall features favors combination of iron deficiency and thalassemia. And just few days ago I found out that I have anemia with hb of 8.8, hematocrit of 26, MCV 65 and mch 21.7 (I'm not pregnant or bleeding in any way) The peripheral blood smear states microcytic hypochromic red cells, mild rouleaux, few eliptocytes. Is this suggestive of thalassemia.
