Having functional bowel disease. Lateral sphincterotomy was done 5 years ago for anal fissure. I have a tendency to get anal fissure for only one time hard stool since childhood and I rarely get hard stool So, my question is if anyhow I get hard stool then what I should do so that I can avoid anal fissure.

Hi.. anal fissure don't recur if done properly.. try to avoid hard stools by modifying your lifestyle.. eat high fiber diet that includes fruits and salad, drink plenty of water, eat your meals at fixed time, don't be sedentary and exercise. Avoid food that cause hard stools for you. If still anal fissure happening, consult a surgeon

Try to modify ur daily life style n dietary intake....
Consume plenty of fluid... avoid oily n spicy food totally...
If after all this also u had hard stool then consume laxative a night before... atleast 30ml
