Whitecoat bp cure

2025-12-27 08:00:34
Is there any permanent fix for white coat BP? I have tried many BP medicines and anxiety medicine and long breathing and what not but still at hospital, my BP goes to 150/100. It is not the hospital environment, but the sound of the cuff and that inflating and inflating motion which triggers anxiety- also anticipation of what the numbers would be? At home bp almost always between 125/120-85/80

There are 2 different things to be aware of. 1. White coat effect- means some actually has genuine High BP but that gets worse when they are in health care facilities etc. THIS GROUP NEEDS MEDICATION FOR BLOOD PRESSURE. 2. White coat Hypertension- means they don’t actually genuine High BP but the readings are always higher when they are in healthcare facilities etc. THIS GROUP DOES NOT NEED MEDICATION FOR BLOOD PRESSURE. It sounds like you are in group 2. For your reassurance you can have 24hr Ambulatory BP test. All the best. J G S R clinic

There's no specific treatment for the white coat hypertension. You can try meditation, breathing exercises and perhaps a consultation with a clinical psychologist.Ideally home BP monitoring is more suitable for you and its fairly accurate

No need for any medicine. When your b.p. is being checked, just do some deep breathing and relax. Get  thyroid function tests done to exclude hyperthyroidism.
