Toothache and sensitivity

I am having toothache since last 3 months which is on and off. I previously had filling in this tooth 3 yrs back and now I have toothache but the filling is still intact

Hello, You will probably be needing root canal treatment for that tooth now, cause can be secondary caries below your existing filling or some infection. Treatment can only be confirmed after seeing x-ray of the tooth. Regards Dr. Ila yadav MDS Prosthodontics (Implantologist)

Get an iopa Xray done and consult dentist. Deep/secondary caries was replaced by restoration. Warm salt water gargle.

If the cavity was deep and filling has been done,  it would have definitely touched ur nerves now,  which is causing u pain. If the pain is more please take tablets.

For now take the medication prescribed. Rx Tab Augmentin 625mg BD Tab Metrogyl 400mg TDS Tab Diclomol BD Tab Pan 40 OD Tab Ketorol DT. SOS (in case of very severe pain) Take all for 5 days There might be secondary cavity or infection reaching to tooth root

Visit your dentist as clinical and radiographical examination will give exact treatment plan It may be either removal of the affected tooth or RCT (root canal treatment)
