However, if your dentist has recommended a root canal treatment based on the X-ray and their examination, it's likely because they have identified that the tooth decay has reached the pulp of the tooth, causing infection or inflammation. A root canal procedure is typically done when the pulp of a tooth is damaged or infected. During the procedure, the infected or damaged pulp is removed, and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed. This helps to save the tooth and alleviate pain or discomfort caused by the infection. If your dentist has recommended a root canal, it's important to consider their professional opinion. If you have any concerns or questions about the treatment, you can discuss them with your dentist. They can explain the procedure, the reasons for the recommendation, and what you can expect during and after the treatment. It's always a good idea to communicate openly with your dentist, voice any concerns you may have, and make an informed decision based on their expert advice. If you're unsure, seeking a second opinion from another qualified dentist can also provide you with additional insights.

Your lower left tooth requires RCT as the tooth is now cariously exposed. Please don’t get the tooth filled it may trouble you. Save your tooth by RCT followed by a dental crown

Hi ...yes you need a root canal treatment...though xray is not very clear but the tooth looks infected and has deep caries.
Next Steps
you can begin with the treatment and not wait till you get too much pain.
