Thyronorm dose for 6.95 Tsh

2025-02-25 08:34:18
My t3 and t4 are normal but the current Tsh(checked 2 days ago) is 6.95. What dose of thyronorm shall I take? My thyroid was detected during pregnancy, and current dosage is 25 mcg at 8 months postpartum

25mcg is wrong dose. U need at least 75mcg one before breakfast. Add calcium as thyroxin is calcium depleting agent so bone becomes weak. Calcijoint XT one at night after dinner.

You may have to increase the dose to 37.5 mcg or 50 mcg depending on your body weight.

I am assuming from the information you have given that you are taking 25mcg for 1 year yet tsh levels are 6.95. Hence you can increase the dose to 50mcg and check tsh levels after 3 months.

If you are planning another pregnancy the dose may need to be increased else you can continue with the dose you are taking and repeat the test after about two months. You can discuss the various options with your treating doctor
