TSH Monitoring and Dose Adjustment (Per Harrison’s): ✅ Normal TSH Range: 0.4 – 4.0 mIU/L (some labs accept up to 5.0) 🟠 TSH 5.0: Mildly elevated, but improved from baseline 9.0 Suggests partial correction, dose is likely effective But may still need slight adjustment if target is full normalization 🟢 Recommended Plan: Continue current dose (100 mcg) for 6–8 more weeks without missing any days Repeat TSH at 8 weeks total from current dose stability If TSH drops into 1–3 range, maintain or reduce to 88 mcg If still >5, increase slightly only under supervision (to 112.5 mcg) ❗Important Notes: Do not change the dose on your own Take Thyronorm on empty stomach, same time daily Avoid iron/calcium supplements within 4 hours of dosing 📘 Reference: Harrison’s Manual of Medicine, Endocrinology section: TSH should be monitored 6–8 weeks after dose change; adjust dose in 12.5–25 mcg steps. Goal TSH: mid-normal range for age. MARK HELPFUL 👍

Hi .. tsh -9 is not always need to take medicine, there is few exceptions. Do you have any complaints. If No then please stop medicine . Repeat your TFT at standard lab in early morning with fasting conditions. If it TSH still high go for anti - tpo … if it come positive then only go for thyroxine. Otherwise no need to take medicine. Just keep on monitoring your TSH 6 monthly as your tsh is on borderline. If you have symptoms related with hypothyroid then go for thyroxine. Although your doctor give high dose with 1 st contact which is not good . Please visit or consult MD physician or Endo person .

Hi, Ideally,no Don't reduce the dosage because TSH is at the normal range. It's normal with the supplementation. Having said that, it's unusual for a young male to develop hypothyroidism. We need to figure out why that happened and see if it's something that can be reversed. Do consult

First of all from your reports , it appears you donot have hyperthyroid means excess of hormone. You have hypothyroidism means less of thyroid hormone.. Please visit an endocrinologist to have clearity on disease , future course, dose adjustment and report interpretation..
