Do not stop or reduce Levothyroxine supplements unless adviced by the doctor. Symptoms can reappear.

Do not stop levothyroxine on your own. Normal thyroid reports while taking it usually mean the dose is controlling the condition, not that it has cured it; the need for lifelong treatment depends on the original diagnosis and thyroid antibodies. Continue the prescribed dose and review your TSH/free T4 with your doctor before making any change. You may book a Practo consult with me for a medication review.

Normal reports while taking levothyroxine don’t prove the thyroid has recovered. If the original diagnosis was mild/uncertain, consider a supervised trial off treatment with TSH/FT4 recheck in 6–8 weeks.
