There is swelling on upper teeth (pus)

My son is 4 years old and had swelling on the right side of his upper teeth. The swelling has reduced by about 80%, but a little bit is still present. We have been seeing the dentist for the past 10 days, and they have cleaned the area and done a temporary filling. The dentist prescribed Metrohex gel to apply on the swollen gum three times a day. I would like to know how many days it usually takes for the swelling to fully heal. Or this treatment is going on right path?

Hello The treatment plan must be pulpectomy or pulpotomy Along with the treatment, there is a need of antibiotic usage, which will take at least one week to heal

If there is  swelling and as you are suggesting here ,if it's due to a decayed tooth this might require a pulp therapy / pulpectomy rather than a normal filling .
Next Steps
online consult and follows by a treatment visit to the nearest experienced clinician
