Swelling in n ankle after cast removal

Hello doctor, my mother is having the problem of swelling in ankle even after it's more than 2 months of cast removal( due to fracture of last two fingers of foot). If she stands or walk just for 10 min, her foot gets swollen at the area where fracture occurred and has heat sensations. Kindly suggest Note: The bones were in 90% formation stage in X-ray two months ago

Swelling after removal of the cast is common. However if it persists too long then there may be other causes. It will require clinical examination and imaging.

Please visit an orthopedic surgeon.
