Sun exposure in first trimester

2025-01-08 07:10:46
I have been spending 20-30 mins in the sun once every week due to very cold weather and I'm on my 2.5th month of pregnancy. (First trimester) is it safe to be in direct sun once a week?

It is not only safe, it is good. By default you are making up your Vit D3 level. You said "due to very cold weather". In very cold weather it is the best thing that you can do.

Early morning sunlight ideally before 8am is safe as the amount of UV rays is good . Hence Try to have exposure during that time.

Sun exposure is very much necessary in any trimester. If possible take daily sun exposure for 30 minutes. It will keep your vitamin D level normal, which is good for you and your baby.

Hi Sunlight in early hours have less intensity of ultraviolet rays, which are harmful to skin. And it is the same for women or men, pregnant or non pregnant.
