First of all, you need to understand that the overwhelming stress and persistent overthinking you are experiencing could be part of an underlying anxiety disorder or another mental health condition. Ofcourse it could be OCD also. But further workup is mandatory to conclude. Therefore, I would recommend consulting a psychiatrist, who can explore your symptoms in detail, assess the underlying problem, arrive at an appropriate diagnosis, and guide you regarding the further management and treatment.

Hi I would say don’t label it OCD just because you’re overthinking. Stress and anxiety can create a very active mind. When you notice the thoughts, try not to argue with or solve every thought. Say to yourself, “I’m having an anxious thought; I don’t need to figure this out right now,” and return your attention to what you were doing. If the thoughts feel repetitive, intrusive, uncontrollable, or you feel compelled to check, seek reassurance, analyse, or perform certain behaviours to reduce anxiety, then it’s worth getting assessed for OCD. Take therapy. You can connect with me on nine two six six seven two six zero six five.

Overthinking and stress can occur with anxiety, OCD, or other stress-related conditions. Having unwanted thoughts alone does not mean you have OCD. OCD usually involves recurrent intrusive thoughts and/or repetitive behaviours or mental rituals that cause significant distress.
