Skin itching after taking bath

2026-03-09 10:50:58
Respected dermatologist doctors, I am experiencing itching in skin post taking bath many a times, I apply moisturiser too and it settles after a while. Yesterday had itching in inner thighs too at night but got better. I feel I have dry skin even after applying moisturisers. I have thyroid and on 75 mcg. I only use good quality body wash no soaps. please guide me on it. Thank you so much

Your symptoms suggest dry skin (xerosis), which can cause itching especially after bathing. This can happen when the skin barrier becomes dry or irritated. Thyroid disorders can also sometimes contribute to increased skin dryness and sensitivity. Helpful Tips / Word of Caution: • Avoid very hot showers, as they can worsen dryness and itching. • Use lukewarm water and limit bath time to 5–10 minutes. • Wear soft cotton clothing and avoid harsh scrubbing of skin. It would be helpful to take an online consultation with me for a more detailed evaluation and personalized treatment plan.
