Short cervix at 20 weeks

Hi doctor, This is my first pregnancy. Initially i had very mild abdominal pain at 18 weeks and my doctor measured cervical length on 28 weeks 1 day where it was 2.8cm and then at 19 weeks 5 days, i  have done the TIFFA scan where the cervical length was measured as 2.6 cm and no funneling. Doctor advised me to take susten 200 vaginally. I have seen in the internet that short cervix can cause preterm delivery or pre mature birth. Could you please advise if the bed rest is recommended and shall we go with cervical stich along with progesterone Thanks

This is your first pregnancy. Normally we don't recommend a cervical stitch for the first pregnancy. But in your case it should be considered because if the cervix becomes shorter then giving a stitch will be difficult.

Length of cervix less than 2.5 CM requires a stitch You definitely need to go with rest Progesterone support will not have much Benifit
