Both crowns have their own advantages..a well fit PFM crowns is good enough and  will not interfere with MRI.
Next Steps
relax and proceed with the crown appointment if for some reason the mri technician is concerned about the crown a  temporary  protective guard can be helpful.

If your doctor has suggested a PFM crown you can go for it. However you can also explore the option of Zirconia crowns. Ask your dentist which one is best suited for YOUR case and decide accordingly. PFM causes minor distortions in MRI especially near the crown area. Inform your doctor about your crown before undergoing an MRI. Zirconia on the other hand is MRI-friendly.

The PFM (Porcelain-Fused-to-Metal) crown is MRI-compatible, and you can safely undergo MRI treatment without concern. Rest assured, the crown will not interfere with the procedure.

Hi, Metals used in more recent dentistry are not ferro-magnetic metals, which means they produce no effects during a MRI scan. porcelain fused metal (PFM) crowns are considered safe for MRI scan, again depending upon the choice of metal your dentist is preferring in the crown.
Next Steps
Talk the dentist in brief regarding PFM crown before scheduling MRI
Health Tips
Zirconia crowns are bio adaptive, strong and more aesthetic and are 100percent MRI safe. Only ruled out possibility for zirconia crown is the cost.

Hi, A PFM cap is MRI friendly. You can go for either PFM crown or Zirconia crown.
