Hi If the dentist is clean and hygienic and following all the new protocols during the pandemic.. feel free to discuss your anxiety and fear with your dentist and i am sure they will answer all your questions patiently and you can definitely get your treatment done comfortably and safely.

Postponing is good option if not an emergency or urgent. However, if all precautions are followed (for example, ventilation, sterilization, fumigation system, pre and post wipe with appropriate surface disinfectant, appropriate PPE kits, N95 masks, covid19 test, covid19 declaration, etc),..Effective and basic Infection Control Protocols, at Entry, Reception at Operatory, Clinic Area, it's safe to undergo with additional use of "Rubber dam for RCT" to minimise oral salivary contamination. There is possibility of cross infection too, if strict appointment system is not followed and have wait in common area. High standards also provide consistency throughout so that you receive quality care. It is important to make informed clinical decisions, So, if your doc has advised you to wait, definitely he might have analysed that your condition is ok to wait...or if he has suggested for treatment he knows his duties in treating you. You can however, also ask him what all precautions he is following..nothing wrong. It's better to evaluate with all reasoning. Regarding second part of your question, the roots may not get damaged so quickly, however make one more vist to your doc to reevaluate the status in another 15 days or so... It's also not good to totally ignore as this pandemic conditions is going to stay for some time more. Overall it's your choice,...the need, urgency, emergency, selection of operatory system vs how safe it's to wait and for how long!

Hello Maam , Welcome to Practo   - Maam  I would suggest to postpone any Dental visits for now unless its too urgent( uncontrolled pain ) . Till then take medications , practice proper oral hygeine and you will be fine till then . -Tab Sopirex 500mg 1 tab bd x 5 days -Tab Metrogyl ER 1 tab bd x 5 days -Tab Zerodol SP 1 tab bd x  5 days -Cap Pan D 1 cap bd before meal x 5 days. - Betadine mouth wash in luke warm water everyday. You can safely undergo root canal procedure with all the neccessary precautions. We do not know how the pandemic will present in near future. It is better to get the essential treatment done now.

Rct can be postponed till this pandemic if there  is no pus discharge or swelling associated but there is no substitute to it. Till then  u are advised  to maintain oral hygiene  and do warm saline rinses.

It's always better you wait for dis pandemic to settle down... Doing any treatment now is unsafe for you as well as the doctor and other people who visits his clinic ... During these times dental clinics are open only for emergencies and consultation.

If the pain gets subsided by the medications prescribed for some time....u can postpone it for now.....but if the pain is continuous u can undergo the treatment provided you and doctor take every precautions
