Root canal treatments and extractions are done under local anaesthesia to block away the pain sensation. Sometimes people do feel pressure while the tooth is being removed but that’s not painful. Definition of extraction is painless removal of tooth, hence there is nothing to be scared of.
Once the anaesthesia wears off, there is tenderness which can be managed with analgesics(painkillers).
