Rib bone fracture
My father got rib bone fracture and right arm bone fracture by falling from stairs 10days before. He went to doctor, did xray and found 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th right rib bone fracture. the doctor did plaster on his arm and bandage on chest and suggest to repeat bandage every 5days. Now he is facing breath difficulty sometime when pain sharpen and cough otherwise he is ok all day. Please suggest.

--. Dolokind Plus (Mankind) [Aceclofenac100 mg +Paracetamol 350 mg] 1 tab. OD & SOS. X 5 days.
--. Caldikind plgus (Mankind) 1 tab OD x 10 days.
-(You may need help of your local doctor to get these medicines.)
--. Fomentation with warm water. Let the part not be exposed to cold.
--. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding.
--. Use no pillow under the head.
--. Avoid painful acts & activities.
-- .Do deep breathing exercises.

Hi!!! Usually rib bone fractures are treated conservatively by applying a rib belt unless and until if the fracture is very bad and piercing the lung tissue.
Please continue rib belt for 4-5 weeks. It is best to comment after seeing the x-rays.
