Regarding Cheek and Tongue Bite.

I often bite my tongue and cheek and sometimes during sleep. I have consulted Dental Surgeon and he said my tongue is large hence this issue. I am afraid can this result in bigger problem in future. I just want to ask I had done MRI PNS 2 months back, if any serious illness of oral part can it be detected in MRI PNS. MRI PNS detected Synus infection.

From what you’ve mentioned, it seems like you have Macroglossia wherein your tongue size us usually larger than normal. And I’m not quite sure if MRI-PNS would be helpful. However you can get a consultancy booked if you have issues while sleeping at night. For the continuous cheek and tongue bite, ask your dentist to slightly trim your tooth to provide a little relief.

What you fear is condition called Macroglossia . It is usually left untreated unless severe. MRI - PNS ( Para- Nasal Sinus ) View is usually done for a maxillary sinus abnormality and has nothing to with your tounge . Tounge retaining devices are available which can train you tounge for a physiological position The problem which can be anticipated from such a condition is OSA ( Obstructive Sleep Apnea )
Health Tips
You should be aware of apena and OSA. If u are episodes of waking up frequently in night unable to breath it better to consult a Maxillofacial surgeon for treatment of OSA
