Regarding Achilles tendon raptured
I have undergone Achilles tendon raptured surgery 5 weeks before. Currently my leg is in a cast. As per the doctor cast will be removed after 6 weeks. I have searched in net and found that almost everybody who suffer this injury uses a cam walker boot after the cast is removed for some weeks. But my doctor is telling boot isn't required. So I am afraid that if I will start weight bearing with out boot or any support I might re-rupture my Achilles tendon. Please tell if the boot is really necessary or not.

Actually if u have the capacity to buy boot u can but without that also u can go for non weight bearing walking with the help of walker since now you are in cast beside u need to have Physio therapy treatment for the Achilles’ tendon repair once the cast is removed such as ultra sound therapy for pain relief over the operated site and gentle kneading massage to prevent the scar becoming thick .
