Reducing platelet count

2021-05-22 05:36:03
Doctor, I took covishield vaccine on May 03, 2021. After vaccination i gone through some news reports which mention the risk of rare blood clot associated with the AstraZeneca/ covishield vaccine. Report said the blood was associated with the low platelet count. So as a precaution i did cbc tests in an interval of 3-5 days after vaccination. (All platelet count to be multiplied by 1000) May 05, 2021 platelet count - 218 May 07- 229 May 10- 239 May 15- 230 May 21- 218 I observe a reduction in platelet count of 21000 from May 10- May 21. I am little bit worried about the result. Is it ok to vary the platelet count. I have taken iron rich food such as spinach in the last 1 week. Do I keep any tablets for SOS If any blood clot occurs, before going to hospital?

The given value of platelet count is nothing to be scared of. Watch for any warning symptoms as chest discomfort or weakness of any part of the body.
Next Steps
If the platelet level goes down further, consult a physician. At this stage watch and wait.
