Take Quadriflu once you are properly better - no fever for at least a week and back to your normal energy, so roughly 2-4 weeks after the illness settles. There is no rush: the H1N1 attack itself gives you immunity against that particular strain for this season, but the shot still protects you against the other influenza strains in circulation, so it is worth taking. Do not take it while you are still febrile or on steroids/antivirals for the acute illness. If cough or breathlessness is still hanging on at 46, that needs a look before vaccination rather than after.
Next Steps
Wait till you are fever-free about a week and feeling normal, then take one Quadriflu dose at any clinic. If the cough, weakness or breathlessness is still lingering, message me on a Practo consult first and we will clear that up before you get vaccinated.
