Hi My wife has got papillary thyroid cancer. We were following with doctors and it was informed that surgically it will be removed. Today we came to know suddenly that my wife is postive . Can we do operation during pregnancy. Last month 15th she had and this month 15 she did not have and when we tested she was positive. First baby was premature baby born in 7 months and now she is 2.7years old. C section.

Surgery has to be done as it’s cancer. However inform your treating doctor of the pregnancy as post surgery treatment needs to be modified based on pregnancy

If yr wife has thyroid cancer detected  and now if pregnancy got detected  then mothers life is more important now  .. Terminate the pregnancy now  and take treatment for thyroid cancer from onchosurgeon  .. Mothers health is now priority.. Take care  ...

It will be a difficult decision because following surgery you would also require radio iodine and further treatment You need to discuss things with your treating doctor
