Sound like a problem with tempero mandibular joint various reasons could cause such problem most important reason could be a bad occlusion. Get it checked by a dentist .if u r facing tremendous pain u must have already visited a doctor but rather u are here writing down questions without relevant data for diagnosis so i guess the pain is chronic and mild

U need to answer few more questions.did u face any traumatic  injury on the affected side? Any caries tooth? About oral habits?
