Pain at left waist area while sneezing

I have pain since a month now at left side of lower waist area and it's severe while sneezing and coughing. It improved week back but has started again. Earlier it was on left back and has travelled at left side. Please advise if there is serious issue and what the precautions and remedies. Thanks
