Thumb sucking in children are common and doesn't cause severe protrusion of the teeth / jaws if stopped at a very early age. But the same habit if prolonged beyond a point of time ,could cause protrusion of teeth and jaws. The treatment of the same is dependent on the severity of the protrusion .
