Nausea/ car sickness

2022-05-11 10:25:57
Hi! I have had car sickness for as long as I can remember however it stopped on its own for a few years and also during covid as I have not traveled anywhere and I don't have any until I started going to office which is an hour away from my house. I took nausea pill when it gets worse at night before bed but that wore me out for more than 15 hrs and it makes me feel sleepy and I can't really do any work. Any recommendations or help with any nausea medication I can take that won't make me feel drowsy? Thanks

Keep a driver.  Don't drive the car yourself. Every medicine to control motion sickness  (not car sickness) will cause some sedation.  So don't take chances.

Tab Ondansetron 4 mg  can be used it has  very less sedative  effect compared to other drugs. You can use ginger tea it helps with motion sickens. These things will help while traveling: 1. Position yourself where there is less motion . 2. Supine position is best. 3. Reading must be avoided. 4. Keep the axis of vision at an angle of 45 degree above the horizon. 5. Alcohol or dietary excess before or during travel should be avoided. 6. If journey is short then avoid food or fluids. 7. If journey is long then then take small amount of fluids and simple food.
