Initial dose: 500 mg (naproxen base) at onset of headache Repeat dose: 250 mg–500 mg after 6–8 hours if pain returns Maximum in 24 hours: 1 000 mg total (some guidelines allow up to 1 250 mg, but higher doses increase GI/kidney risk)
Next Steps
Take with food or a proton‐pump inhibitor if you’re prone to heartburn or ulcers. Avoid if you have uncontrolled hypertension, kidney disease, or heart failure.
Health Tips
Also track frequency ,duration NSAIDs or triptans for acute attacks. If you have >4 migraines/month, consider low‑dose beta‑blockers, antidepressants, or anti‑seizure meds. Consult neurologist ,can optimize both acute and preventive therapy.
