2020-03-26 20:31:54
Hi It's been 4 weeks to a Ligament and Minescus injury. Have got checked this with a Physio and an Orthopedic doctor Physio had suggested surgery but Orthopedic doctor didn't recommend surgery but rest. Now I have taken rest and for 4 weeks and extra care and precaution that no major jerk happens which could cause more damage or pain . But still on little jerks cause minor pain. Now please could you advice should I start exercising a little at home Or should I give it more rest? Please also confirm the necessary precautions or test ?

Share your MRI report. It depends of type of ligament or meniscal injury .

Hi, Pain is not a major concern with ligament injuries, but instability is. Since, it's already 4 weeks get on with the physiotherapy, if your MRI shows a complete tear in the ligament then surgical option maybe necessary. Meniscal tear on the other hand can cause discomfort and sometimes in a larger tear locking of the joint. So surgery or not is a collective decision based on your symptoms, clinical findings and your MRI.
Next Steps
your doctor is a better person to decide on that. however, if you have doubts you can always get a second opinion.
