sugar , protein , culture for turberculosis and bacterial infections. Screening is done for immunosuppressive Infections like
hiv, hepatitis b and c. Based on reports further management is decided. All this done in a hospital setting. Effusion With mediastinal shift may need draining of pleural fluid as well. Pleas immediately consult a chest physician. It’s of prime importance you consult a doctor immediately.
