L4, L5-S1 disc buldge

I have pain radiating to both my legs from 3 months. I have L4, L5-S1 disc bulge, and recently I’ve been experiencing hand pain, particularly in the morning after waking up. The pain feels pinching and shifts between wrist and fingers, resembling a nerve-related discomfort. However, NCV tests of all four limbs came back normal, and Vitamin B12 levels are also normal. I wanted to ask: 1. Could this hand pain be connected to the L5-S1 disc bulge, or is it likely a separate issue? 2. How long does such nerve-related recovery typically take, assuming it’s posture-related or due to inflammation?

Hand pain can't be related to spinal discharge bulge. Inflammatory pain may last up to  2-3 weeks

Thanks for explaining your situation so clearly. I can only imagine how frustrating it must be — dealing with pain in both your legs for 3 months Anyways I shall answer your queries 1. No — your L4-S1 disc bulge affects the lower back and legs, not the hands. So the hand pain is most likely a separate issue, possibly from: Postural stress (especially if you sleep awkwardly or work on a laptop a lot) Early carpal tunnel syndrome Neck (cervical spine) issues — worth checking if you have neck stiffness or shoulder pain. 2. If it's posture or inflammation-related, most people improve in 4–12 weeks with the right steps: Posture correction (especially while sleeping and sitting) Nerve gliding/stretching exercises Physiotherapy focused on cervical and wrist mobility Anti-inflammatory care
Next Steps
Try ergonomic sleeping and working posture (firm pillow under neck, hands straight, back supported). Do gentle wrist and neck stretches in the morning. Follow up with a. Oegjspecialist to rule out cervical disc issues if symptoms persist. If pain worsens or hands go numb — get a cervical spine MRI to check the neck region.

Since you have already got Spine MRI, you must be suffering from Back and leg pain in past. Now this hands pain can't be due to this spine L5/S1 problem but can be due to local pathology, Cervical radiculopathy etc.
Next Steps
Better to consult with a Pain Management Clinic.
Health Tips
Avoid using laptops and mobile for long.

Hi your hand pain is not related to this disc issue. Needs clinical examination and further evaluation for your hand pain
