Knee Swelling and Pain Management

I am under care of a rheumatologist which sits for one day in one month in my town and I am suggested to meet once in two months. But i am currently facing severe pain and swelling in my knee so can I visit a physician for any kind of injection or quick pain relief medicine?

Apply heating pad for 15 minutes 2-3 times a day.apply nice or volini gel.You can take paracetamol for pain or consult for stronger pain medication.
