Hi,
Tremors are more likely to be a side effect of OCD medications rather than OCD itself. Many commonly used OCD medicines (especially SSRIs, clomipramine, or dose increases) can cause fine hand tremors, particularly in the first few weeks of treatment.
OCD as a condition does not usually cause tremors, unless they are related to anxiety, inner restlessness, or medication effects.
Since your tremors started after beginning treatment (around 2-3 weeks), a medication-related cause is more likely.
Next Steps
• Do not stop the medicine on your own
• Inform your treating psychiatrist about the tremors
• Dose adjustment, timing change, or a supportive medication may be advised
• Tremors often reduce on their own as the body adjusts
Health Tips
• Avoid excess tea, coffee, or caffeine, which can worsen tremors
• Manage anxiety and ensure adequate sleep
• Seek urgent review if tremors are severe, worsening, or associated with stiffness or restlessness
