Get inj. Hydrocortisone 100mg stat. Tab cetrizine 5mg one morning and one evening for 4 days. Tab monteleukast 10mg one daily in evening for 4 days. Apply ice pack, 2 to 3 times daily.

I am Dr Shamoon, Consultant Physician. This is most consistent with an acute allergic swelling after the insect bite. Because the lip swelling is large and has not reduced after two hours, do not ignore it—tongue or throat swelling, hoarseness, breathing trouble, dizziness or hives means emergency care now.

A significant amount of swelling can occur after an insect bite/sting and may continue to increase for several hours before gradually settling. The fact that you have no pain, irritation or other symptoms is reassuring.

It looks like a allergic reaction post insect bite . Cold compression and anti allergic medication taken should suffice if the response is only lip swelling as shown . Any escalation , as in additional difficulties requires in person consultation with doctor.

With no pain and no other symptoms, you can keep using cold compresses for short spells. If your lip is still swollen after two days, or turns painful, warm or starts oozing, see a doctor to rule out infection.
