Yes it's fully advisable to visit a good physiotherapist at your locality. They should short your problem by taking proper assessment. It should be a nerve involvement. May require neural mobilization technique depending on the assessment. Regards

Pain traveling all the way to the leg is a definite possibility due to low back ache. It does seem like sciatica but always best to get yourself assessed by an orthopedic and Physiotherapist. Please work with your Physiotherapist to identify the root cause of your problem and ensure you get rid of the issue once and for all. It will need sustained efforts from you to continue exercising and strengthening your muscles even after your pain has come down. Follow the advice given by your Physiotherapist and orthopedic while lifting weights. Do rehabilitate yourself taking time. Don't be rushed.
Next Steps
Visit an orthopedic and a Physiotherapist for regular sessions. If a MRI is suggested please get it done.
Health Tips
Avoid lifting weights or doing strenuous activity. Avoid Depp massages as it might aggregate your condition. Use hot packs for relief, avoid sleeping on them. Ensure you don't burn yourself. Take care!
