High LDL cholesterol

My recent lipid profile report Total cho : 236 LDL : 156 HDL : 50 Triglycerides: 167 Non HDL : 185 Do I need to mandatorily start medicine ? If yes, are these to be taken life long ? Can I avoid medicines and control cholesterol ? ( Pls note my father also had a cholesterol & he used to take blood thinner medicine) Pls advise

As your father had cholesterol issues and is on blood thinner it is advisable for you to start therapy You can try to reduce cholesterol naturally by regular exercise Avoiding oily foods and fatty foods Increase in vegitable fruits consumption We can repeat the fasting lipid profile after 3 months of above changes in Lifestyle and if still the cholesterol is high we can start medicine
