Yes effective , but as you say want instant results ayurveda has variety of drugs and combinations
Each pathy had there limitations after all hypertension is now a days become a life style disorder due to stress food and many other reasons. Medicine have there perticular time reacting on disease based on individuals body it means prakriti .you can shift ur father for ayurvedic medicine.
