At 21–22 years of age, most males have complete fusion of their growth plates, so significant natural height increase is unlikely. If you wish to know for certain, the most appropriate initial investigation is an X-ray of the left hand and wrist (bone age assessment). If the growth plates are fused, there is no meaningful natural height growth potential remaining.
Next Steps
Consult an Orthopaedic Surgeon initially for clinical evaluation and a bone age X-ray. If there is a history of delayed puberty, hormonal disorders, or if the bone age is significantly delayed, you may be referred to an Endocrinologist for further hormonal evaluation. If you would like a detailed discussion, you can also book an online consultation with me.
Health Tips
Do not rely on supplements or medications marketed to increase height after growth plate closure, as they have no proven benefit. Maintain good posture, regular exercise, and adequate nutrition for overall musculoskeletal health.
