Hello,
Headache after tooth extraction is usually not directly related to the procedure, but it can happen due to factors like:
• Stress or anxiety from the treatment.
• Long duration of mouth opening during extraction.
• Skipping meals, dehydration, or general fatigue.
• In some cases, pain from the extraction site may radiate to the head (especially if it was an upper tooth).
This should usually settle with rest, hydration, and mild painkillers (only after confirming no drug allergies).
However, if the headache is severe or doesn’t improve, I advise you to visit your dentist or physician for a check-up.
Also, since a tooth has been removed, I strongly recommend placing a space maintainer if needed.
In children, early loss of teeth without space maintenance can lead to malocclusion, crowding, and bite problems in the future.
So timely intervention is important to avoid bigger issues later.
