If you consider a particular shampoo causing the problem avoid it for some months and see. Some kids may do well with natural soap nuts. You have to rule out other causes of scalp irritation. Bore well water if it did not cause problems all these years should not cause now.

For now, try using lukewarm water, rinse the shampoo well, avoid rubbing the scalp while drying, and observe for 1–2 weeks.

It's due to hard water only

Post-bath scalp itching without dandruff or redness is most likely due to hard borewell water (high mineral content) drying out the scalp, or mild shampoo sensitivity. It resolving on its own within minutes is reassuring — no signs of infection or lice.

It’s due to dryness of scalp due to water . Use Luke warm water. Rinse shampoo completely Apply coconut oil to scalp 30 min to 1 hr before bath

Use filtered/RO water or last rinse with drinking water for 1–2 weeks and observe. ✅ Use lukewarm, not hot water. ✅ Shampoo only 2–3 times/week, not daily. ✅ Choose a fragrance-free mild shampoo (e.g., Cetaphil / Sebamed / Mustela). ✅ After bath, apply 2–3 drops coconut oil or light scalp moisturizer if scalp looks dry. ✅ Check for lice/nits once (sometimes itching after wetting reveals occult lice).
