Hi You need to detoxify your gut first for the best absorption of iron .. Good plant sources of iron clad lentils, chickpeas, beans, tofu, cashew nuts, chia seeds, ground linseed, hemp seeds, pumpkin seeds, kale, dried apricots and figs, raisins, quinoa and fortified breakfast cereal. There are lots of factors that affect the amount of iron our body can absorb from your diet. Calcium is found in foods such as milk, yogurt, cheese, sardines, canned salmon, tofu, broccoli, almonds, figs, turnip greens and rhubarb and is the only known substance to inhibit absorption of both non-heme and heme iron. Tea , coffee also effects the mal absorption of iron in the body.

Greetings for the day!!    Iron deficiency could also be caused if there is any sort of infection. Try deworming your GI tract and then start with supplements. Regarding diet modification, you can include greens, ragi, tofu, whole grains, pulses legumes. It is important to take Vitamin C rich food whenever you take a veg form of iron to improve absorption. Thank you
