Reason behind the gum boil needs to be diagnosed as soon as possible, anyway if the gum boil is painful then an anesthetic content in the ointment is a must as it will relieve the pain. Gels that i would recommend - Warm saline gargles Betadine gargles Antiseptic gels like- Orajel, hexigel Anesthetic + Antiseptic gels like- Rexidine M forte gel Anesthetic gel- Lox 2% gel
