Flap tear of meniscus

While playing, I twisted my knee and got my patella dislocated. On getting an MRI done, it was found to be a flap tear of my medial meniscus. It has been a little more than 2 weeks. I was told to take rest. But, I don't see any improvement. The knee is still inflamed, painful and I'm not able to bend my knee at all. I can't completely extend my knee neither can I flex it beyond a certain degree. When I try to bend it more I feel tension on my muscles and as if the patella would dislocate again.

Avoid sitting Cross legged. Avoid Squatting- Quadriceps Exercises- Lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core Strengthening Exercise- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

Hi.. I presume that u had a consultation With orthopaedic... Before.. follow his medications and advise... Usually flap tears r unstable so it will take time atleast 4 to 6 weeks usually.. Keep icing your knee frequently atleast once in every 2 hours will likely reduce discomfort and pain.. don't move your knee forcefully.. u may worsen the issue... Keep it wrapped with crepe bandage to control swelling and keep it raised slightly above the heart level with pillows under the leg and knee... If the locking of the persists get a consultation from arthroscopic surgeon..

If symptoms doesn't come down even after 6 weeks then meet a arthroscopic surgeon

don't force any activies for now on injured knee..coz.. the more I force the more it's get tighter...due to spasm of muscle... once everything subsides meet a physio and start rehab...
