Fibroid issue

Is surgery an only option for treating submucosal fibroid? I have 2-3 cm of fibroid and get heavy periods so do I need to get this surgery done and no other way of shrinking it? If I wait for it to naturally/chemically shrink , are there chances of its growth and creating further complications?

Submucosal fibroids usually do not respond to medical management. Still you may try for a few months as long as you are not anemic. If jo response, go for hysteroscopic removal

Submucosal fibroids of this size is difficult to manage with medicines alone. You can try for 1 or 2 cycles. But medicines cannot provide long term relief and the fibroids will again increase in size after stopping the drugs.

You can try medical management for 1-2 cycles and see if you are symptomatically better. If the medical management fails then go for surgical management.
