Suffering from fever since yesterday. Temperature was 102°F. Had Instaflex P as Paracetamol but to no avail. Fever came down to 101°F in the morning but plummeted to 101.2°F first and then to 101.5°F. Associated with this is intermittent coughing and breakdown of phlegm in the lungs. Please help me,as to whether this is related to common cold or any viral infection or any other cause.

Fever of 102°F with cough and phlegm since yesterday is most likely an acute viral respiratory infection. Paracetamol helps bring the fever down temporarily but it will fluctuate — this is normal with viral fevers. Rest, adequate fluids, and steam inhalation for the phlegm are the key measures at this stage.
Next Steps
