Tympanoplasty and Septoplasty are both routine daycare surgeries.
Post Septoplasty they will put packs in your nose which may either be self-dissolvable or require removal. Since these are kept for 48-72 hours you may have some discomfort in breathing through your mouth and experience dryness in throat and mouth. Remember to drink frequent sips of water.
Once your packs are removed, use a saline nasal spray or drops( eg Nasoclear nasal spray) to avoid crusting in your nose.
After Tympanoplasty you need to avoid a head bath until your operating surgeon advises. For the next 3 weeks post Tympanoplasty you will have to avoid Swimming, diving, lifting very heavy weights and cleaning your ear by yourself. Preferably use a cotton( mildly soaked in lotion or oil) to plug your ears when taking a bath. In case you catch a cold anytime immediately after your surgery take medicines ASAP to avoid graft failure.
