Dose of BP Medicine
Taking Newtel AM twice daily since 3 months for hyper tension.
Current BP is 110/65. Feeling dizzy and sleepy. Also having muscle cramps.
Do I need to consult for dose reduction.
Also after starting this med . my uric acid is getting elevated. ( 7.9 )

Get serum electrolytes, serum calcium, vit d, b12, checked and share results. Instead of taking Newtel am,( telmisartan 40 and amlodipine 5), take tab telmisartan 20mg, and amlodipine 5 mg in morning.
Telmisartan does reduce uric acid as well.
Avoid beer, spinach, tomatoes, peas, beans. Repeat uric acid after 4 weeks.
For muscle cramp, take tab evion 400mg one morning and one evening for 4 weeks.

Current situation:
• BP = 110/65 mmHg

Interpretation:
1. BP 110/65 with symptoms → likely over-control of blood pressure.
Even though 110/65 is not dangerously low, if you are symptomatic, the dose may be slightly high for you.
2. Muscle cramps → may suggest:
• Electrolyte imbalance (especially potassium or magnesium)
• Mild dehydration
• BP slightly low
3. Uric acid 7.9 → Elevated.
Telmisartan usually does not raise uric acid significantly, but:
• Dehydration can increase uric acid.
• BP medicines may indirectly affect kidney handling of uric acid.
So yes — dose reassessment is reasonable, especially since you are symptomatic.
