If a dog’s teeth only touched your finger without breaking the skin (no bite, no scratch, no bleeding) at that time, this is NOT considered a rabies exposure. Rabies virus requires fresh saliva entering broken skin or mucosa. The dryness/peeling appearing 6–7 days later is almost certainly dry skin, minor irritation, eczema, or friction-related peeling, not related to rabies. This scenario is classified as Category 1 exposure → no vaccine required.

If the dog licked or touched your finger where skin was already broken so it comes under category 3 and you need rabies vaccine as well aa immunoglobulin but if your skin was intact and no cut marks were present so you donot need any further evaluation

Better you go for vaccination, otherwise you have  anxiety all time.

Clean that site very well with soap and water. If there is aclear scratch, go for tetanus and  anti rabies vaccine,  otherwise not needed.

If there were no scratches,  then no need to take vaccine

If there isn't any sign of injury, no need of any vaccine. If there was no bite, scratch, bleeding, or broken skin at the time of contact, this is not a rabies exposure. The skin dryness seen days later is unrelated. No rabies vaccine or doctor visit is needed. But if you have a suspicion, do get the post exposure prophylaxis.
