Dog bite last month

2025-09-03 18:48:13
My dog(indian breed) is fully vaccinated and healthy.. while playing she bite me by mistake... I got a very small wound which is about a centimeter only. I immediately kept turmeric powder on it and took septic injection the same night. Its been almost a month. My pet is doing well. Is there any chances of rabies infected on me??

No need to worry but still I would rather suggest you to get a post exposure antirabies vaccine.

Take it easy You don't need PEP vaccination. Being a pet parent  keep your pet properly vaccinated. Instead of turmeric just wash your wound with soap and water

Hello, Since your dog is fully vaccinated, healthy, and under observation for more than a month without showing any abnormal behavior, the chance of rabies transmission is practically negligible. You do not need to worry about rabies in this situation. If the wound has already healed and you are otherwise fine, no further treatment is required. For future bites/scratches: • Wash the wound thoroughly with soap and running water for 15 minutes. • Apply antiseptic. • Consult a me immediately to decide about anti-rabies vaccination. You are safe in this case.

No chances. If you have taken the vaccine and your dog is also vaccinated then there no chances of rabies. But never apply turmeric on any wound.
Next Steps
if a dog bites, first thing you should do is immediately wash the wound with soap and water
